How to browse NeXus files ?

How browse and visualize NeXus files ?

Baladi is an integrated application in TWIST to browse and visualize NeXus files. It's usefull to browse the files before download them.

You can access to the application Baladi by clicking on tab: .

After the execution of the filter, a list of experimental contexts are displayed in the experiment table.

By selecting one or more experimental contexts, you can visualize the list of files' paths corresponding to these experimental contexts.

After having selected one or more NeXus files in the referenced paths panel, you can:

  — right-click and select the menu: "Show"

  — click on button in the toolbar

  --  click on menu "File", then select the sub menu "Show"

  — use the keyboard shortcut : Ctrl+H

You will be directed to the application Baladi to browe your selected files.

Baladi allows to browse and vizualise all data contained in the NeXus files.

 

In the above image, you can see a panel which contains three NeXus files. There are represented with the icone : .
 
You can browse the file by double clicking on it.
 
If you double-click on a file, you can see all experiments that is contains. In fact, each experiment corresponds to a "NXentry" node.

For example :

 
If you click on "+", or if you double-click on this node, you will browse this experiment.
 
 

If you select a data, informations about it are displayed in the panel named "Dataset information".

 
 
If you double-click on a data, you visualize the data ( it can be a string, a scalar, an image or a spectum).
